Metal mosaic is a special mosaic made of different metal materials. It has two kinds of smooth surface and matte surface and has high hardness, strength, light retention, light shielding, and other properties.
At present, there are three kinds of metal mosaics in the market: stainless steel mosaics, aluminum-plastic plate mosaics, and aluminum alloy mosaics.
Main raw materials: stainless steel sheet, backing ceramic particles, and back net.
Advantages: the production cost of stainless steel plate is relatively low, and the price of finished products is relatively affordable; Extremely wear-resistant, good anti-skid performance.
Disadvantages: the color is relatively single, most of which are gold and silver, and the surface technology is only wire drawing and mirror; The surface of stainless steel is easy to oxidize, resulting in dim color, and some inferior products will appear rust spots; Stainless steel skin, ceramic particles, and back net are easy to stick together, and the particle peeling phenomenon is serious.
Main raw materials: aluminum plastic particles and sponge gum.
Advantages: the color of the aluminum-plastic plate is relatively rich, and the surface technology can be divided into wire drawing, drawing, flashing, stone grain, mirror, wood grain, and other types, with a large choice; There is a thick resin protective layer on the surface of the particles, which keeps the color luster for a long time; The specific construction is simple and can be directly pasted without mud brushing and joint filling.
Disadvantages: affected by the surface resin protective layer, this material cannot be used as floor tiles; The price is at the middle and high-end level.
Main raw materials: aluminum alloy particles and back mesh.
Advantages: the particles are made of all aluminum, and the strength is guaranteed; Secondary processing can be carried out to design beautiful and atmospheric phantom, laser, spiral, and other effects; It is wear-resistant and can be used as ground decoration. The visual impact effect is very ideal.
Disadvantages: the color is relatively single, and it is difficult to design the effect of pictures or other materials; The surface process is limited to wire drawing and mirror surface, and it needs to be filled with mud during installation; The price is at the middle and high-end level.
1.Level the wall, and mark the reference line on the wall according to the size of the mosaic.
2.Wet the base surface, wet the base layer with clean water until it is saturated, and paste it when there is no open water on the surface.
3.Use special batch scraping tools to scrape the ceramic adhesive on the wall in strip shape or full scraping shape, and it can be firm only when the thickness is more than 3mm.
4.The mosaic shall be paved from one direction to the other.
5.After each sheet is pasted, it shall be leveled with a pressure gauge to ensure that each part is compacted and fully combined with the adhesive. After the wall body is completely dry, the joint shall be filled.
6.Three steps of joint filling:
(1)Remove the loose matter in the gap between metal mosaic and the extruded ceramic glue during pasting;
(2)Wet the mosaic joints with clean water, and use joint sealant for construction when there is no open water;
(3)Use a special sponge trowel to press the noncorrosive joint filler into the gap.
